Located not far from downtown, El Rio Golf Course dates back to the 1930's and was the original site of the Tucson Open. The Course was Tucson's first Country Club and was operated as a private facility until 1968. The layout features tight fairways, small greens, relatively flat terrain, two lakes, and numerous mature trees.
Ideal for the "short knocker," this course measures 6013 yards from the regular tees and 6418 yards from the back tees. Layout includes tight fairways, small greens, relatively flat terrain, two lakes, and numerous trees. A feature hole is the 450-yard, par-4 Number 2, which requires some skillful maneuvering. The small green makes this hole a challenge. Practice green, lighted driving range, and clubhouse facilities make this a popular yearround course.
