Since Canoa Hills opened in 1985, it has been one of the most popular course in Southern Arizona. Canoa Hills is a beautiful 18-hole public golf course laid out among the canyons and hills of the Santa Cruz Valley. Its large bent-grass greens, Bermuda tees, and rolling fairways offer exceptional playing conditions for players of all abilities. Placing a premium on accuracy, not distance, the course offers a unique challenge to all, where missing a fairway may result in dealing with the desert that surrounds most of the holes. The fairways are overseeded with winter rye.
Nestled among the canyons and ridges of the Santa Cruz Valley, Canoa Hills offers spectacular views of the Santa Rita Mountains, while using the natural terrain to help dictate the shape of each hole. The course design, although tight and requiring shrewd club selection, is fair to the average golfer. Canoa is known for being kept in tournament condition year-round and prides itself as being one of the best maintained courses in Arizona.
The course is 6,610 yards long form the championship tees, 6,088 yards from the regular tees, and 5,158 from the forward tees. Landing areas on each hole tend to be narrow, but the greens are generous in size. Located in Green Valley just east of I-19, the Haven Golf Course was established in 1967, in the retirement town of Green Valley. It is ideal for players of all skill levels. Running along the western banks of the Santa Cruz River, the course is a traditional design with Bermuda grass throughout. The vegetation is mature and the landscaping features large pine, eucalyptus and palm trees. Water comes into play on many holes.
Open to the public -- dawn to dusk, this course is the oldest and best in Green Valley. Beautiful wide fairways, Bermuda greens, big trees, and ponds complement a very "forgiving" course. A wrap-around enclosed porch offers an unobstructed view of the Santa Rita Mountains. Snack shop, bar, putting green, pitching area, and driving range. Also, Tortuga golf course -- par 3, nine holes. It's flat and well marked for yardages (100, 150, and 200 yards out). It plays 6,849 yards form the back tees, 6,336 yards from the regular tees, and 5,811 yards from the forward tees.

This Robert Trent Jones-designed, par-72 championship course has bent-grass greens and Bermuda grass on tees and fairways, and is overseeded in the winter. Rio Rico lulls you to sleep in the first four holes and slowly becomes one of the most challenging and beautiful courses you'll ever play. The front nine is located on a river flood plane and after the turn you tour the rolling hills. Just 50 minutes south of Tucson, it provides a perfect day trip whereby you can visit two remarkable examples of mission architecture: San Xavier Del Bac and Tumacacori. San Ignacio Golf Club, Green Valley's newest public golf facility, is an outstanding championship layout designed by Arthur Hills. Measuring 6,704 from the professional tees, 6,288 from the champoinship tees, 5,865 from the regular tees, and 5,200 from the forward red tees. Accomplished golfers will appreciate the challenge from the back tees, requiring solid tee shots that must carry as many as 175 yards to clear the desert between the tee box and the fairway. The design of this course requires intelligent course management and encourages accurate shotmaking. Landing areas are tight, although clear and out of trouble, while the fairway bunkers and mounding catch only errant shots, and give direction and flow from tee to green.
San Ignacio offers smooth Penncross bent-grass greens, Bermuda fairways, and four beautiful lakes to challenge your game. With the variety of tee boxes, the unique hole designs, the numerous small mounds, and the changes in elevation found here, players of all abilities will find San Ignacio a scenic, fun, and very challenging course. The risks and rewards are the same for players of all levels and played from the appropriate tee, the challenges are fair to players of every level. One of the outstanding features of San Ignacio is the commanding views of the surrounding mountains.
